Blown off the lake

We headed over to the Vermont side to fish the Gut because I had read this is a good place for Walleye. We still got skunked, though.

On the way back we rounded the old Railway causeway and pointed towards Mooney Bay only to be assaulted by a really strong wind out of the west and huge swells. We quickly turned around and sought the safety of The Gut.  We pulled up on a dock and found a nice a couple staying at their camp today. We explained what happened and they knew exactly what our predicament was and offered to drive us back to Mooney Bay so we could pick up the truck and trailer and pick up our boat.

What a beautiful afternoon but with the wind being so strong there was no way we could safely get across the bay. It turns out, the husband was an IBM Retiree just like my father. What a small world! We got home around 10 PM!  What an ordeal.
