The Black Birches III

Didn't get it quite right - funny thing with Picasa2, unless you export the file, some of the settings/changes only stay within the picture browser. So, here it finally is, cropped the way I originally wanted it. There was a version 2 but it wasn't reflecting the cropping so I deleted it from the blog.

Elliot is soooo big!

Here is one from my Canon 300D. Did a little touch up work in Picasa2.
Shot details: 40mm, f/4.0, 1/60, ISO 400.

Holocombe Preserved II

Modified Color version of Holocombe Preserved. I actually did the color saturation first but still felt that the B+W version did this shot better justice.

Holocombe Preserved

Shot this with my Kodak DX3900, originially in color but found the picture did nothing for me but I loved the composition, so I used a color saturation option in Picasa2 (See Holocombe Preserved II - this shot before it was converted to B+W), converted to B+W, played around with the lighting and contrast, and added a green filter. Voila!
BTW, what you are looking at is a Northwestern view from the Holocombe Forest Preserve, in Newtown, CT.Posted by Hello
