La Fin du Monde

We headed down to Burns Bay figuring it was about the max distance we could handle if we had to come back on the kicker

The Moose is on the loose, last day on the Cabonga

Last day of the trip and since we had done so poorly this time around we didn't go far as our hearts weren't into it.  However, we did a learn a few things.  Northern Quebec had a really cold winter this past year and there was a lot of snow and the Cabonga water temperatures was a lot colder than what we have seen in the past around this same time.  We should have been fishing shallower water for Walleyes and we need to get flashers for Lake Trout.

First Pike

With summer hours in effect at work I headed home at 2 PM, Jim met me at the house and we went out on Lake Lililonah.  The boat was running nicely, by the way.  My father took it to Cabelas and they put new spark plugs in it.

We headed up the Shepaug to Pike Alley. Jim said he saw a pretty good sized pike come out of the water near the shore.  We fished the area pretty hard but no luck.  I was casting a pike spinner when this Northern struck at the side of the boat. It was feisty and really fought back. Jim netted it and, had a quick photo op and let Free Willy go.
